Don’t sit inside: Come and Storm the Zoo!
WHAT: A Storm is coming to Woodland Park Zoo… Meet WNBA Seattle Storm stars Ashley Robinson and Janell Burse as they get swimming tips from the penguin residents at Woodland Park Zoo’s new Humboldt penguin exhibit, feed Australian parrots at Willawong Station, and end the hour with autographs under the Storm tent on the North Meadow. Come and learn about your favorite zoo animals and Seattle Storm Players all in one day!
WHEN: Sunday, August 2, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
WHERE: Enter Woodland Park Zoo through the South Entrance: N. 50th St. & Fremont Ave N.; West Entrance: N. 55th St. & Phinney Ave N. or North Entrance: off N. 59th St. & Phinney Ave. N.
COST: Free with zoo admission. Admission through September 30: Adult (13-64) $16.50; Child (3-12) $11; Toddler (0-2) Free. Seniors and people with disabilities receive a discount and zoo members receive free zoo admission year-round. Parking: $5. The Seattle Storm, is Seattle's women's professional WNBA basketball team. Our championship winning team is locally owned and run by Seattle women, and is Seattle's only professional basketball team. The Storm's roster includes All Star players and Olympians (Australia and U.S. Olympic teams), Lauren Jackson, Sue Bird, and Swin Cash. This year is the 10th anniversary of the Seattle Storm franchise.
